After a several month hiatus, the monthly horoscopes are back in June! Yay!
As I like to say: we all live under the same skies, and the radical reinvention energy that has fast propelled so much change in our world has also affected me. Lots of personal change behind the scenes gave me little time to write–despite staying safe at home during the time of social isolation. And what better time to return to writing a monthly horoscope than during Venus Retrograde, eclipse season, and a fast-approaching Mercury retrograde!
Yes, this month has seemingly got everything under the sun happening, including a potent total new moon solar eclipse at zero degrees Cancer, square the Aries point (a symbol for the collective). Echoes of energy that erupted at the spring equinox return now, with the next level of intensity reverberating throughout our emotional bodies. The key is how do we manage the urge for growth and change when so much of the planetary energy is retrograde? How to cope with the #astrology of June 2020: Be grateful. Be patient. Be kind. Be human. As I was writing these monthlies, I was listening to a random mix of music on YouTube and this popped up by Wax Tailor. The lyric seems so appropriate right now with the full moon lunar eclipse in Sagittarius (fire) and the new moon solar eclipse in water (Cancer):
“years go by like hurricanes; years go down in flames”
It’s a good time to formulate a plan, adjust to circumstances and new information, but wait on the actual implementation until mid-July after Mercury goes direct on July 12th. In fact, mid-July to September 8th is a great time to initiate something new in whichever part of your chart Aries occupies since Mars will be there to fuel your passions and give you some extra oomph.
I’ve written quite extensively about this summer eclipse season in my 2020 and You Year Ahead Horoscope book, which you can order here on Amazon. The horoscopes below offer a more intuitive and poetic approach to the energy you may experience this month.
Check out your individual sun sign horoscopes and also read your Rising, Moon and Venus signs for a fuller picture. You can also find daily-ish astrology posts on my Facebook page, so check that out by clicking here. It would be great to have you part of the community over on Facebook.

For most Rams, life is not about acquiring trophies or status symbols. You’d rather go do the thing that everyone else only dreams about and leave the gilded lilies on the mantle for someone else to enjoy while you crush it by taking a rocket ship to Mars or becoming an artist par excellence. Or both. Yes, in the past week I’ve watched the Elton John (Aries!) Biopic on Amazon Prime and started singing from memory all those songs that played on the radio in the background of my childhood. While I’ve always loved Elton’s music, I never stopped to consider or get to know the rocket man behind the tunes. Elton’s story touched me deeply—it truly seems so quintessentially Aries: a life fueled by the desire not to be tamed, but to be loved wholeheartedly, unconditionally. And while you often can give this love to yourself, Aries, the question remains: how can you open up to receiving this love right here on earth, with some new friends, new family members (a furry one, perhaps?), new city/town/landscape where people love you exactly for who you are, and where you can settle down—but not settle—for anything less. “Life is always either a tightrope or a feather bed. Give me a tightrope,” wrote Edith Wharton (Aquarius). I share this bit of wisdom with you, darling Taurus, because you are being roused from your feather bed. I know, I know that you abhor being disturbed from a particularly sound slumber, but that’s Uranus for you, making a storm outside your bedroom window with enough lightning to singe your eyelashes (metaphorically speaking). Yes, you’ve awakened, Taurus, and there’s no going back to the land of nod. Just as certain dreams haunt us long after waking to the point that we think they have actually happened (and who is to say they really didn’t, in some alternative universe), you are haunted by the memory of a lost chance. Or the potential of losing out on something you can’t quite explain. You only know this: a quickening has electrified your body, mind, and spirit. You want the next great adventure, a grand passion, a raison d’être so compelling that you have a hard time falling asleep at night. The tools you’ll need to start swinging from the chandeliers will soon appear, Taurus—and don’t you dare think that it’s too late to find happiness again. It’s just that you’re going to find it in a place outside your comfort zone. Let me know in the comments what’s going on for you with this energy. Nostalgie de la boue is a French expression that means, loosely translated, a longing for mud. But like any saying interpreted from its original language, certain nuances get lost in translation. The phrase also implies that one yearns for a time in the past when one was carefree, foolish, and a little too prone to the kind of hijinks that might make your grandma blush (or not, depending on your grandma). Life is good, Gemini, but a bit too serious lately for your tastes—and you could be having a strong urge to bust a move, bring back that old nostalgie de la boue, and show everybody you still got it. Late night shenanigans might be fueled by Red Bull and a rowdy Aries or Sagittarius BFF, and I suspect one such night is on the horizon for your birthday month. However, by the time of the solstice on the 21st, I suggest cleaning up your act. The new moon solar eclipse is giving you a huge opportunity to up level your lifestyle and leave behind the mud and muck from your past that only clouds your judgment and dulls your vibe. Sure, indulge in one last head over heels wild night of debauchery, but then don’t waste the best chance you’ve had in a long while to manifest a new lifestyle much more aligned with good, clean fun. The word “thwarted” is an interesting one—for some reason, whenever I hear it, I think of thorns on a rose and someone’s puckery-in-pain face when reaching to pluck a dreamy blossom—only for one’s delicate fingers to be met with stinging resistance. It may feel like a lifetime, Cancer, since you’ve planted anything in your figurative garden that didn’t meet with blight, worms, or some other less than optimal condition. It may seem like forever since you’ve smelled the sweet blossoms of success, but all that is about to change. Mark your calendar for the summer solstice and the new moon solar eclipse at zero degrees of your sign. In the next six months, whatever seeds you sow for your new beginning will be nurtured by supportive celestial conditions. You’ve watered acres of soil with your tears, Cancer. It’s time to tend your garden with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. The long dry and painful season of being thwarted is over. Remember the flak former President Barack Obama (also a Leo) got for wearing a tan suit? Pres. Obama explained in 2012 that he only wore gray or blue suits because he was “…try[ing] to pare down decisions. I don’t want to make decisions about what I’m eating or wearing. Because I have too many other decisions to make.” So when he showed up at a press conference two years later in 2014 wearing a tan suit, the reaction was swift and not entirely positive. His experience is a metaphor for yours this month, Leo. Basically an easy-going person, you don’t easily get your undies in a twist about tiny details because you have more important things going on. However, this month the energies suggest that you may have to defend your choices. Someone in your world isn’t going to like what you consider not a big deal. Something you do is going to upset them because it reminds them that they don’t have control over you. And that’s as it should be. You’re breaking out of some old ruts this month, Leo—so take their less than favorable reaction as a sign that you are on the right track toward a deeper alignment with your true self. So many interesting English usages and idioms related to the word “fog,” aren’t there, Virgo? I’m asking you because I feel you’ve become a professor of mists and murky atmospheres the last few months. (Plus, Virgos often know the most obscure trivia.) Lately, though, your brain has not been on its usual clear tack. Muddled, befuddled, fog thick as proverbial pea soup—these conditions have not helped you figure out which way to go, who with, and why. The good news this month is that your skies and your mind are finally clearing. As Beat poet Jack Kerouac wrote, “And when the fog’s over and the stars and the moon come out at night, it’ll be a beautiful sight.” With your 11th house of hopes and dreams being activated by the new moon solar eclipse on June 21st, it’s time to look up at the clearing sky and make the biggest wish of your life. One of my favorite things about attending live musical concerts is the encore. You know your favorite band is going to do it—how could they not when they have all those raving fans clapping, screaming, and shouting—letting it all out. (Yes, the most recent concert I went to was “Tears for Fears” and “Shout” was the encore). It’s almost time to leave the stage, Libra, but there’s one more song on your setlist before the Universe gets you back on the road to a new arena. Let yourself wrap up a phase of your life with joy and a little festive shouting. You’re moving on to the next gig, figuratively speaking, but also literally, too, as the new moon solar eclipse on June 21st empowers your career house with an ear-shattering decibel blast of some good old fashioned rock and roll that will bring you more raving fans, more money, and more creative freedom. If any sign understands the power of ritual, it is you, Scorpio. You often have your own unique routines, ways, and means of imbuing your world with significance. Lately, though, you’ve intuited that your usual rituals and ceremonies for honoring your spirit have perhaps fallen a little flat. Set your intention at the new moon solar eclipse on June 21st to manifest a deeper connection with the new you that’s evolved since January—and then investigate what you need to shake up your routines. You need some new tools, new inspirations, and new mentors. You’ll discover them this month and in so doing, you’ll access a level of deep, creative magic that will surprise even you. A renewed sense of what is possible for your life will motivate you to keep doing the meaningful work that you came here to share with the world. And by December, you will have even greater faith in the power of your intention and aligned action to manifest bounty in your world. Got any Capricorn friends, Sagittarius? I’m asking because you might want to check in with them—not because they’re doing poorly—far from it—but because they can give you a few pointers on how to survive the next year and a half of your life. You see, they’ve just dealt with the south node of endings, elimination, and the inevitable in their sign—and now it’s your turn. I know that after having Saturn in your sign from 2015-2017, you felt you’ve paid your tuition in the School of Learning to Surrender, but now your graduate level coursework is here. The first assignment is from Indian spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy: “Surrender is a journey from outer turmoil to inner peace.” Your task is to discover this month, Sagittarius, where you create drama in order to avoid finally facing yourself. The Universe is going to start eliminating the drama at your doorstep in whatever way it typically shows up for you. And no amount of further drama on your part to bring back the old dramas is going to work. This Surrender is about your journey to peace. Can you accept that Peace can be just as—or even more—satisfying than the outer turmoil that’s been the norm for too long?Let me know in the comments what’s going on for you with this energy. It may be hard for you to believe, Capricorn, but you are “the one who got away” for someone who regrets not treating you better. I say it’s hard for you to believe not because you’re unloveable—far from it—but because you often are so capable—at damn near everything—that people just take you for granted. And so when certain relationships end, you often feel that something is wrong with you—because you often doubt your own abilities to show love and emotion with giddy abandon (which seems to be all the fashion these days). Yours is a different kind of love, Capricorn—it’s not for the frivolous seekers of frothy dalliances. Now that someone has grown up, grown sober, grown older—he/she finally realizes that the kind of love you had to offer was just what they needed. Whether this relationship was thirty years ago or thirty days ago, someone’s regret is coming in loud and clear on your psychic radar—and I’m here to tell you: No matter how apologetic someone from the past is, they still don’t know how to carry your heart with tender hands. Hold out for the heart that is as equally capable as yours. Hold out for the heart that meets yours with a spirit you don’t have to school. Hold out for the heart that treats you the way you deserve to be loved—right from the beginning—because that heart is on its way. Let me know in the comments what’s going on for you with this energy. People generally do not give enough credit to Aquarius as being a very psychic sign. They forget, though, that you’re ruled by Uranus—the bringer of lightning, the instigator of epiphanies, the conjurer of flight. True, your Aquarian brand of intuition may come in bursts rather than in more subtle, ethereal forms. This month you’re getting those gamma rays of glorious heavenly transmissions, Aquarius, and they’re coming in at wavelengths your soul is registering consistently. The quickening pulse of your life is tripping a wire in your soul—you’re seeing into what is coming a year, five years, ten years down the road. While some of these cosmic transmissions do involve precognition of your own personal future, you’re also tapping into what’s forthcoming for the collective. Do what you need to do with this information, but know that not all are ready to receive what you have to say. That’s okay. They’ll finally get it in early 2021—and you will become a go-to resource for those who are seeking the truth. Let me know in the comments what’s going on for you with this energy. You’re going to get a “do-over” this month, Pisces—a second chance to perfect a plan, to refine your techniques, to make good on a promise you made to yourself in early January 2020. The Universe, in bringing you this “do-over” is not trying to say you did something wrong the first time around. Instead, I believe the Universe protected you from something coming to fruition before you were ready. Mars in your sign for most of June has you motivated and hopeful that this time around, the positive change you desire will truly stick. You’re certainly doing everything in your power to show up and do the work—and I do believe your initiative will be rewarded by month’s end. Look to the 21st for a sign, message, piece of previously concealed information to be that missing puzzle piece you need to put the final stages of the plan in motion.
