Your March 2019 Monthly Horoscopes are here! The big news this month is Uranus entering Taurus on March 6th where it will work its sudden and often eruptive transformational magic for the next seven years. We also have Mercury retrograde in Pisces from March 5th to March 28th. Scroll down the page for individual sun sign horoscopes.
Mercury is already somewhat of a trickster during its retrograde cycle, but that energy may be even more pronounced this month. Pisces is a mutable sign, dream-like, hard to pin down, sometimes lost in a world of fog and mist and wet kisses. Mercury transiting retrograde could have us bewitched, bothered, and bewildered—and possibly feeling a bit depleted by all the “real world” tasks that constantly require our attention.
Pisces often likes to stretch the truth (just like fellow mutable signs Gemini and Sagittarius), and we have to be especially careful this month not to give into self-delusion or delusions of grandeur with Jupiter in Sagittarius squaring Mercury and Neptune in Pisces. Or someone could be spinning gossamer cotton candy tales and whispering sweet nothings in our ear—and we get swept up in the sweet dreaminess of it all, only to wake up with a sugar hangover. Beware of sweet talkers this month!
Yet this is also an incredibly spiritual influence with Neptune in Pisces, and we may find that, as Andra Day sings, “All we need, all we need is hope / And for that we have each other…” We may find heartfelt companions in spirit—our “tribe—who really get us and with whom we can “rise up like the day.”
And I’ll rise up
I’ll rise like the day
I’ll rise up
I’ll rise unafraid
I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
And I’ll rise up High like the waves
I’ll rise up In spite of the ache
I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousands times again
And we may need some tender support this month as Uranus faces Taurus the Bull for the first time in 84 years. (Uranus takes a long time to go around the zodiac wheel). Whenever a major planet shifts signs like this, the days surrounding the shift often bring an ‘energy signature’ event that hint at what we can expect from this planet’s transit.
Taurus likes everything to be easy, comfortable, and just so. They don’t like their routines disrupted and they certainly do not like to be disturbed. Uranus is often called the Great Awakener because he disrupts best-laid plans. Things you counted on happening often turn out in surprisingly different ways when Uranus is involved. So be sure to pay attention around March 6th, 7th, 8th for a clue as to how Uranus might impact wherever Taurus falls in your birth chart. With Mercury going retrograde right at the same time, try to take whatever happens with a nice dash of proverbial salt.
The full moon in Libra on March 20th happens at 9:43 pm Eastern time, just a few hours after the Sun moves into Aries. Chiron the Wounded Healer is nearby at 1 degree Aries. This is the axis of “I” vs. “We.” Where do you still need healing around taking care of yourself for yourself, while still getting your needs met in relationship? How have you been rejected for being who you really are in relationships and how has that stopped you from becoming involved again? The full moon may bring a fresh insight on these matters this month.

The emphasis is very much on your shifting values, Aries, as Mars powers his way through your 2nd house of self-esteem and money. Uranus joins him there on March 6th and there could be a revelation about how you spend your energy to earn your daily bread. Maybe there needs to be a practical (Taurus) revision (Mercury retrograde) to the Mission Statement of Your Life (which of course affects your finances). The thing to get a handle on as this transit begins is What Really Matters. You reinvented yourself when Uranus transited Aries from 2011 to March 5, 2019. Now it’s time for you to transform the way you earn your money. It’s time to trust that you can be fully, authentically the New You and make money easily—from a place of happy alignment. Remember it’s not the abundance of money you’re chasing, but the abundance of spirit you feel when you show up everyday as unabashedly yourself. You’ve had Mars in your sign since February 14th, which is an interesting energetic prelude for the arrival of Uranus on March 6th. Mars has left you feeling a little on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Please try to stop worrying. Uranus is already going to give your nervous system a heady jolt at the beginning of the month; you don’t need to add your own adrenaline into the mix. While routines can be comforting, they can also lead to complacency and sometimes an almost robotic approach to life. You’re about to get a little “lost in space,” but any danger, Will Robinson, is down to your fear of cracking yourself open emotionally. On March 20th, Mars in your sign will trine Pluto in Capricorn. The energy of deep transformation is beginning. You’ll have an inkling around that time that this coming spring will be unlike any you’ve ever known. Watch your monthly Tarotscopes for additional insights into this month’s energies.
How are you holding up, Gemini? Only one planet (Venus) is in Air right now, in Aquarius. All this water and earth energy has got lovely butterfly Gemini trapped in a far corner of the garden, looking for an exit amidst all the thorny bushes. Where’s the clear skies, the fellow light-hearted companions, the sunshine? That will all arrive at the spring equinox on March 20th, with the gorgeous full moon in Libra at zero degrees. A breath of fresh air arrives in the form of a new love, new creative project, or new friendship. Uranus enters Taurus, your 12th house, on March 6th. Uranus’s transit there the next seven years may have you yearning to break free from any place you feel is a prison. You may suddenly act very out of character (and that’s saying something, for Gemini’s are known to be mercurial shape-shifters). Try to keep your more wayward impulses under control, especially at work with Mercury retrograde transiting there this month. The boss is watching. If home is where the heart is, then how come you’re still living in these same four walls? Your heart up and left some time ago and it’s pensively scanning the moors for a light through the fog. Yet here you still are, outwardly going through the motions, hoping the Universe hasn’t forsaken you. Mars in trine to Pluto around the full moon in Libra, March 21st, is a burst of light through the mist of wishes and dreams. Your physical reality will start catching up to your spiritual one, with a clear-out of epic proportions. If the other people in your life won’t make your heart their home, then you’ll continue the journey alone—for now. Watch your monthly Tarotscopes for additional insights into this month’s energies.
The electrifying and disruptive force of ass-kicking Uranus arrives in your career zone on March 6th. If you have just been going through the motions in regards to your current work (and I suspect you have for a while), then get ready to rock and roll right out of Main Street and onto the Boulevard of Bodacious Dreams. It’s not just about work, dear Leo, but your Purpose for Living (your “vocation”). This month kicks off the fun ride in a pink Cadillac with eccentric Aunt Susie driving with the top down, smoking a cigarette while not a hair moves in her hairspray-shellacked beehive with you in the back seat, Leo, wiping the ash from her cigarette off your face, clinging for dear life to the armrest, wondering why you can never find the seat belts in these jalopies from the 1970’s. And that’s my long-winded point: you don’t know where Aunt Susie’s taking you, and no seatbelt’s gonna save you if there’s a crash. But on the Boulevard of Bodacious Dreams it’s all about flying by the seat of your pants. Time to sit back and try to enjoy the ride (and a sip from Aunt Susie’s hip flask to steady your nerves). Dreams could either be coming true or you could be waking up from a nightmare when it comes to your relationships this month, Virgo. Lots of activity in your 7th house of partners/others. You have Mercury Retrograde possibly bringing back a ghost from your haunted past (people often think Virgos are so saintly and have no past, but this is a myth! You just don’t kiss and tell [unless you have Venus in Leo]). This energy has the feeling of déjà vu – of a coming together (literally, figuratively) again to rectify / balance some karmic issue. Will it last? Too hard to see through the fog right now to tell. It could just be that you’re in the Season of Surrender. Ride the Neptunian wave of pleasure without attachment. If they’re meant to stay, then they will still be here next month after the fog has burned off from the fire energy of Aries. This is one of your most important months all year, Libra, with a full super moon in your sign at zero degrees right at the Spring Equinox, March 21st. Full moons have the energy of culmination/closure, and for you it’s about writing the last sentence to the chapter of your life that began in 2012. Will that sentence end with a question mark, an exclamation point, or a period? As long as it doesn’t end in an ellipsis … which to me would suggest carrying over a burden from your past. On March 21st, push that Cosmic Reset button—it’s the equivalent of changing the ink in a fountain pen. Only in this next chapter of your life, you’ll be writing your story in emerald ink, as the desires of your heart cannot be held back any longer. I suspect you already know how powerful your will is, Scorpio, for when you harness the intention of your mind, you are one of the masters of manifesting in all of the zodiac. At heart, you are an alchemist, but there’s a terms and conditions clause when it comes to those who wish to experience the Scorpio magic. You would prefer if they were—if not equal in power to you—at least actively becoming their greatest version. Love has eluded you in the past, Scorpio, because you have not aligned your Will with your Magic. Your mind has said, sure, yeah, a relationship, cool—while that terms and conditions clause has kept everyone out. No one has been on a deep enough path for you and that is because you need to go deeper on yours. Uranus transiting Taurus, your 7th house of relationships/partners, is going to crack open your book of Magical Awakening and your will (which is another word for “control”) is going to be taken over by a karmic force that will manifest exactly the kind of Big Love you’ve been wanting for years. Magic happens when we align our heart with our will (control) but also leave enough room for the Universe to adjust the outcome. You will see this month that indeed the Universe knows exactly who and what you need. Watch your monthly Tarotscopes for additional insights into this month’s energies.
Mention the words “self-care” and people often picture a woman in a bathtub filled with bubbles, her head reclining on a plastic shell-shaped pillow, as she listens to harp music. While that is all well and good, there’s deeper self-care needed, in your world this month, Sagittarius. I’m talking about the kind of self-care that is often uncomfortable (at first) which is why you avoid it. It’s the kind of healing that requires a dose of “poison” to correct the problem. Your patron saint of healing in March (and all through the next seven years of Uranus’s transit through Taurus, your 6th house of health/healing) is Paraclesus. He “was the first to declare that, if given in small doses, ‘what makes a man ill also cures him,”’ an anticipation of the modern practice of homeopathy.” In the root of the problem is your cure. With Neptune transiting your fourth house of home/family/roots, it’s time to see how denial, disillusion, and deception in that area have all played a role in holding you back from true self-care, the kind that comes from an undeniable core sense of your worth and value. This month is an ideal time to start your healing by administering the truth as a tincture with a morning cup of tea and your journaling practice. Beginning March 6th, life is going to start to make much more sense, Capricorn, as you see why the “Bulldozer of Doom” (Pluto) had to eradicate so much from your life since its arrival in 2008. Uranus moving into your fifth house of fun, romance, risk, adventure, and creativity is going to bring back the kind of JOY that you haven’t felt since forever (or maybe even ever in this incarnation). Sure, Saturn’s still in your sign along with Pluto. And there’s also the South node in your sign, acting like the final player at bat in the ninth inning who only has to hit a pop fly for the last out of the practice season before Victory is assured and you’re onto Opening Game Day. This month, I see you running the bases, Capricorn, feeling that burst of energy known as Spring Training. No matter your age, you are most definitely in a fresh new phase of your life. Use the Mercury retrograde in March to review your plans for the future. Re-read old journals, revisit old vision boards, take note of those dreams that still want you to put them on the roster for the opening day game to come in April, with the flowers. “You say you want a Revolution, well, you know—we all want to change the world,” sang the immortal John Lennon. And that is your theme song for Uranus the Revolutionary transiting your fourth house of home, roots, family, stability—the situations, people, and things we consider to be foundational to our world. In the next seven years, you will be uprooted—maybe literally, definitely figuratively. A new home is coming to you that is more accurately aligned with your new vision of yourself. You have been freed the last couple of years from karmic conditioning that led to some pretty dubious choices. You’ve done the work of freeing your mind. Now the Revolution is about freeing your roots, shaking off the dirt, and planting yourself in some fresh, nitrogen-rich soil. Uranus will bring this with little notice (as is its way) in Right Timing. With Venus in your sign this month, you are feeling the sunshine on your face again and the good vibes from those who truly get you. Happy Birthday! Lots of Piscean energy this month with a super new moon in your sign on March 6th, conjunct the potent and ethereal Neptune, squaring Jupiter. This energy has the you feeling the twinge of “champagne wishes and caviar dreams” vs. “beer belly bloat and dollar menu at McDonald’s.” How can you make your dreams come true when the money keeps slipping through your fingers? With Mercury retrograde in your sign, you are redefining what makes you happy. Even though Pisces is not typically a materialistic sign, you do like your pleasures—nice perfumes, soft sheets, upmarket chocolates. This month you are tuning into the connection between how you feel about yourself and how that may manifest in your bank account. Others are showering you with attention and affection in March, which is lovely. Yet you are realizing that the disconnect in your life has come in relying too much on outward signs that you’re great, rather than on feeling it from the inside. Once you start addressing that, your coffers will be filled and you can go ahead and swipe that debit card at Godiva’s.
